BRIGHTEN YOUR CHILD'S WORLD WITH A HAPPY HOME

An evaluation of either the custodial or visitation parent’s home may be ordered by a judge or requested by the contesting parent. The purpose of the evaluation is to consider living conditions in terms of suitability and appropriateness for the child.

Other evaluated conditions include potential hazards, actual hazards, vulnerabilities, and potential threats to a child’s (children’s) well-being, or deficits that may place a child’s safety or mental / physical health at risk.

Note that the scope of any evaluation includes all areas of the property and not only the home's interior. Also taken into consideration property hazards, proximity to potentially dangerous areas. Potentially dangerous areas would include those where a higher than normal possibility exists for social dangers, as well as, more severe threats such as high traffic areas.

Our evaluation advocates will be vigilant in seeking out any of the following plus much more:

Unsanitary Conditions – exposed electrical wires, broken steps or handrails, broken window panes, well secured hot tubs, pools and saunas, cleanliness, animal feces, piles of unlaundered clothing, access to medications, or firearms, inappropriate media in print, video or audio form, types of food available, availability to alcohol or drugs, etc.
